Last weekend was fabulous. Jdaddy and I got away for a little mini vacation for our 8th anniversary. On Saturday, we took off in a black convertible Camaro and headed to the town where we both went to college. We had reservations at the Casino Resort for the night (thanks Mom and Dad!).
Upon arriving in town, we went straight to the college bookstore where we bought each other alma mater sweatshirts and hats for the boys. After that, we checked into the hotel and learned that we were upgraded to a hot tub suite. It was fabulous.
We didn’t do so well at the casino, but that didn’t matter. We had a great time together and were able to reconnect. As a friend said, “No kids? Hot tub room? Night to yourselves? You’re already winners.” So true!
This week has been a little crazy. The boys have found themselves in bed early a couple nights. I think it has to do with the time change. By the way, all you parents out there…the best way to survive the first night of daylight savings time is to leave town and leave your kids with someone else. 😉
I picked up something this week and wasn’t feeling good on Tuesday night and Wednesday. I spent Thursday at home, resting as much as I could because with Jdaddy gone this weekend for hunting, I knew I needed to be well, otherwise the boys would eat me up and spit me out. I am feeling better, but still not 100%.
As I mentioned, Jdaddy left town this morning for hunting. It’s just me and the boys. We have some big plans. Like going shoe shopping with my parents. If you don’t hear from me after this, it’s because I had a mental breakdown trying to find shoes for the boys. I pray this won’t be difficult…but honestly, I know it will be.
I’d also like to restore some organization to my house this weekend. I’m betting it won’t happen, but it’s a nice thought. I wonder what Jdaddy would say if he came home to ZERO clutter? The only way that’s going to happen is if I just throw everything away…and in that case, I don’t think he’d be too happy.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
